To accelerate the healthy, orderly, and high-quality development of the foundry industry, the 8th Annual Meeting of ISO Technical Committee for Foundry Machinery (ISO/TC 306) was recently held in a hybrid format (online and offline) at VDMA in Frankfurt, Germany. Attendees included representatives from five countries (China, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Switzerland), members of the ISO/TC 306 Secretariat, and liaison officers from ISO/TC 199 and ISO/TC 244.
The Chinese delegation was organized by the Ji'nan Casting and Forging Machinery Research Institute. Among them, Mr. Chen Zhuoxian, WONSOR's Vice President and Chief Safety Expert, attended the meeting as the appointed Liaison Officer to ISO/TC 199.
The meeting commenced with the ISO/TC 306 Secretariat presenting a summary of the 2024 work and outlining the next steps. Subsequently, the Chinese delegation introduced three new work item proposals for international standards to the experts from various countries: Safety requirements for ladles, pouring equipment and metal melt transfer systems, Safety requirements for low-pressure die-casting machines, and Safety requirements for continuous casting machines. The delegation elaborated on the content and necessity of these proposals, receiving positive responses from the attending international experts.
Leveraging his profound expertise in industrial safety and extensive experience in drafting international standards, Mr. Chen Zhuoxian offered insightful perspectives during the meeting. He provided professional supplementary explanations regarding the necessity of the safety standards, earning high praise and recognition from the international experts. As the Liaison Officer, Mr. Chen will report on the meeting's conclusions and resolutions at the ISO/TC 199 meeting next year.
Through the active contributions and collaborative efforts of the Chinese delegation members, all meeting agendas were successfully completed. This meeting not only fostered the exchange and sharing of global standardization knowledge but also significantly enhanced China's influence within the international standardization organization, laying a solid foundation for China's deeper participation and leadership in the international standardization process.
As the only domestic enterprise in China's industrial safety sector possessing ISO experts, national and international mechanical safety standardization experts, and actively participating in the formulation of national standards, WONSOR will apply the practical experience accumulated over the years to product development and safety consulting services. Concurrently, WONSOR will continue to increase investment in relevant research, promote the implementation of more advanced safety technologies and products, accelerate industry standardization, and enhance global competitiveness.
